Sunday July 3: Day 5
Today was just the day we needed after that challenging stay in Kifampa. We drove five hours to get to Jinja yesterday and arrived in the dark. We spent some time in a bar full of British students and had a lovely night’s sleep in warm soft beds.
We awoke to find we were in one of the most beautiful places on earth. It seems that everywhere we go in Uganda is more amazing than the last. Jinja is a tourist destination. This is the first place we have been that has felt like a typical traveler’s resort.
We all had hot showers, a late breakfast, and spent the afternoon lounging. We even took a swim in an amazing pool overlooking the Nile river. We went to see Bujagali Falls and then had a gourmet dinner of fresh Tilapia from the Nile.
It was the perfect kind of day – just what we needed. We will attack the rest of our trip with new energy – and cold showers…
