Snow, art, ABBA, climbing.

Today was our only full day in Stockholm and we took advantage of every minute. We woke to a lovely soft blanket of snow covering everything. After a lovely breakfast in our hotel we were off to find the Modern Museum. We needed to take the metro to the central train station and catch a bus. There was quite a bit of wandering in circles involved but we finally found the elusive bus 65. A short ride later we arrived at the museum and enjoyed its varied and free collection. After the museum we hopped a “ferry bus” across the harbor to another small island. I talked Lorie into visiting the ABBA museum and it was even better than expected. It would be fun to have a big group of friends as there were all sorts of interactive exhibits to try.

After our two museum morning we hopped on the tram and headed back to our hotel. We stopped for lunch in a department store on the way. Our evening was spent at another rock climbing gym where we had to take a written and practical exam to get our belay cards. Turns out the Swedes take climbing very seriously. Lori has been following this particular gymnon You Tube and actually recognized some of the climbers. She had brought along a shirt for her favorite one and we ended up climbing for free!  We climbend and wandered around the amazing gym until we couldn’t climb any longer.

We ended our day with an expensive- but delicious and easy- dinner at the hotel restaurant. I wore the hotel slippers and everything.  We are up early tomorrow to head to Tromso!
