Lazy Saturday

After a late Friday night we had a slow start on Saturday. We wandered down the street for a big bowl of ramen for brunch. You purchase a ticket from the machine for what you want to order and present it to the waiter. A few minutes later you are presented with a steamy bowl of heaven.  The ramen did a good job of curing what ailed us and we went home to have a nap.

Eventually, we dragged ourselves out to wander through Kagurazaka. It was neat little area on a hill that is the “French” part of town. Like many other areas we have visited there were little alleys with cool bars and restaurants tucked everywhere.
Mercer then managed to locate and navigate us to the Kirin summer beer garden. It was a lovely little temporary beer garden on the corner of a busy street. We had some snacks and tried our first “frozen beer”.  The beer was poured normally but with no foam.  Then they took them to a separate machine that extruded a frozen beer foam. It was awesome! As you drank the beer the frozen foam slowly melts and keeps your beer cool without watering it down. A very cool invention.  The boys stayed at the beer garden and I wandered through a large craft and home store nearby.
On our way home we stopped by Hooters. It was great for people watching and a taste of home.  We spent the remainder of the evening enjoying delivery pizza and watching bad TV. It was another perfect day in Tokyo.
Last Day!
