Today we drove three hours south to Reims, France which is in the heart of the Champagne region. We managed to arrive in town just as the cave tour was starting at Tattinger. We spent an hour touring the caves – some of which were carved by the Romans- and learning about the production of Champagne. We then tasted their most popular Brut.
We spent the afternoon exploring Reims and the impressive cathedral with some of the stained glass by Chagall. We are watching the Olympics in French right now and enjoying a bottle of red wine- petty soon we will head out to find dinner and see the special lighting of the cathedral… Pictures of that tomorrow…
