It was a long day of travel today but after the whirlwind of a trip we have taken I was ready for a long nap on the way home. Packing for our travels home was quite the epic adventure today. We flew a domestic flight from Adelaide to Sydney for our first leg. Australia doesn’t have the same liquid laws as the US and we didn’t have any status on this airline. So this meant we needed to carry on all our wine purchases so we didn’t incur enormous bag fees. All the clothes went into our suitcases and our carry on bags were heavy and stacked with wine bottles.
Once we reached Sydney we needed to check in for our long flight home on United. We must have looked like crazy wineos as we opened all of our bags right there on the airport floor and repacked. All the wine had to go into our suitcases and our carry-on bags had to be restocked for our overnight flight. Luckily we had tons of baggage allowed due to flying Business class and our plan worked perfectly.
The flight home was just as spectacular as the flight had been to Austraila. We were on the upper floor once again and enjoyed many courses of fantastic food and wine. We both enjoyed long naps and arrived home feeling fairly well rested but a bit melancholy that we faced work on Monday.
