Charlie finally finished his meetings at the hotel around 3:00 today- I spent most of the morning recovering from Disneyland- and we headed back to Mercer’s. We did a couple of loads of laundry and then headed to dinner. Mercer took us to the most amazing Izakaya down a back alley and up some stairs in Roppongi. An Izakaya is a working man’s pub. Small plates of amazing food shared among the table with drinks. The place we went specializes in sake so we got to try several throughout our meal. We had sashimi, grilled veggies, fried pork cutlet with piles of chives, and the most amazing fried chicken I have ever eaten.
After dinner, we took a walk and ended up at Mercer’s favorite shave ice place. We had mountains of fluffy shaved ice with fruit syrups and rum. It was kind of like eating cold air it was so fluffy.
We were all pretty tired as we all had busy weeks so we went home and had fun watching Japanese music videos and catching up.
