Lisbon Road Trip

We started our day and said goodbye to Lagos by visiting a beautiful beach.  Well technically it wasn’t a beach – more of a cliff – but we managed to get there before the first tour busses. Randomly there was a cute cat along the path that I got to pet for a little while.  I have been missing my fur babies a lot on this trip.

We mad a quick stop for gas and were on our way north to Lisbon.  The drive was about three hours long but passed quickly with a lot of carpool karaoke.
Once in Lisbon we took a little break and then headed out to explore the neighborhood.  We had fun looking at all the shops and stopped for a little happy hour.

After our refreshments we visited the site of a former convent that was partially destroyed in the major earthquake that hit Lisbon in the 1700’s.   They never rebuilt so the old arches are still there.

We followed our stop at the convent with a lovely dinner at a little hole in the wall restaurant we found in our guidebook.  It was delicious and cheap!  We finished the evening with gelato and a stroll through the plaza home.
Tracy was done for the night so Kelly and I went to the rooftop bar on our hotel and had some frighteningly blue cocktails and a nice chat with an English couple while watching the lights come on in the city.
