Hello Copenhagen!
My latest travel adventure has officially begun! I am taking advantage of a week break at school and headed to Scandinavia with my friend Lorie. Charlie insisted he doesn’t like cold enough to spend his “vacation” freezing in the dark. The reality is he has to work- which is a bummer- and I am on a mission to see the northern lights!
My bags spent the day behind my desk at school eagerly awaiting departure. It was one of those great days at school where nothing anyone said or did could ruffle my feathers. I was getting on a plane -nothing else mattered.
After a “Mr. Toads Wild Ride”/bible lesson Uber ride I made it to SFO. Charlie’s airline status gets me into the United lounge so I spent some time there before taking my seat on my Scandinavian Airlines flight. It was a fairly uneventful flight- though I did work on my “get your kid to stop kicking my seat or I will have to take matters into my own hands” facial expressions.
I managed to sleep for a few hours and felt pretty good upon arrival in Copenhagen. I hopped on the commuter train and found myself in the central station in no time.
I always feel like I have finally “arrived” in Europe when I see the bike racks at the train station.
I spent the afternoon relaxing and enjoying the view from our lovely room. I had big plans for today but when it came down to it a shower and some reading time was perfect.
I plan to do my best to continue updating this week. Unfortunately the app I used to use for this blog is now gone- why google why??? Editing on my phone browser is a bit tedious. If all else fails I will add lots of pictures and share the stories later. I am off to fetch Lori from the train station soon. She was in a different flight.
